Kajabi has three plans: Basic at $179 a month ($143 billed annually), Growth at $249 a month ($199 annually), and Pro at $499 a month ($399 annually). The real difference between tiers isn't features, since all three include unlimited funnels and email. It's contact limits, admin seats, and a transaction fee that shrinks as you scale.

One thing up front, because running paid acquisition for Kajabi communities is what we do all day: the plan is the smallest number in a Kajabi community's P&L. The number that decides whether Kajabi pays for itself is what it costs you to turn a stranger into a paying member. The plan math comes first below, then the part the pricing page leaves out.

The Three Plans, Straight

Basic runs $179 a month, or $143 a month if you pay for the year upfront. It caps out at 2,500 contacts, 2 admin users, 5 products, and 1 community. Kajabi Payments charges 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction on Basic, and if you route sales through a third-party processor instead, Kajabi still takes 2% off the top.

Growth runs $249 a month, or $199 annually. The contact ceiling jumps to 25,000, admin seats jump to 11, and product limits jump to 50. Kajabi Payments drops to 2.8% plus $0.30, and the third-party fee drops to 1%. Kajabi's plan comparison lists extras such as the branded mobile app and API access with their own dollar values, so check which ones your plan includes before you count them in the cost.

Pro runs $499 a month, or $399 annually. Contacts go to 100,000, admin seats go to 26, products go unlimited, and you can run up to 3 separate communities and 3 websites on one account. Kajabi Payments drops again to 2.7% plus $0.30, and the third-party processor fee falls to 0.5%, the lowest rate Kajabi offers on any plan.

All three plans include unlimited landing pages, unlimited marketing emails, unlimited funnels, and unlimited access groups. Nobody is paying more to unlock a checkout page or an email sequence. What you're actually paying for as you move up is contact headroom, more hands on the account, and a lower cut on every sale you process.

If you outgrow a plan's contact cap without needing the next tier's product limit or admin seats, Kajabi doesn't force a full upgrade. Any plan can add another 25,000-contact block for $125 a month. For a community that's tight on contacts but comfortable everywhere else, that add-on is usually cheaper than jumping from Growth to Pro just to buy headroom you won't otherwise use.

What Actually Changes Your Bill

Contact count is the lever that moves most community operators off Basic before they expect it. Kajabi's contact limit counts every record in your account, not just paying members. Free-tier signups, lead-magnet opt-ins, trial users, and contacts you never got around to deleting after they churned all count against the same 2,500 cap. A community with 1,200 paying members can still blow past Basic if it also ran a webinar funnel that captured 1,800 non-buying leads.

Team seats are the second lever. Basic ships with 2 admin users, which is fine for a solo operator or a two-person shop, but a community with a dedicated moderator, a course creator, and a support person will run out of logins fast. Growth's 11 seats and Pro's 26 give you room to build a real delivery team without paying per-seat add-ons, which is how a lot of other SaaS platforms handle team access.

Payment processing is the lever most operators underweight. The plan price is the sticker; the transaction fee is the recurring cost that scales with revenue. On Basic, Kajabi Payments takes 2.9% plus $0.30 on every sale, and the third-party rate is 2%. On Pro, that same third-party rate falls to 0.5%. Run $30,000 a month through a third-party processor on Basic and you pay roughly $600 in Kajabi's cut alone. The same volume on Pro costs about $150. Once monthly revenue clears a few thousand dollars beyond the plan-price gap, the fee difference between tiers can outweigh the sticker price entirely, which is why judging Kajabi cost on the monthly number alone misses the real math.

The Annual-vs-Monthly Trade-off

Paying annually saves $36 a month on Basic, $50 a month on Growth, and $100 a month on Pro, which works out to $432, $600, and $1,200 a year respectively. That's a real discount, not a rounding error. But it also means writing a check for $1,716 to $5,988 upfront, in one payment, before you know whether this cohort of members sticks around.

For a community still proving retention, that trade-off deserves more scrutiny than the pricing page gives it. Monthly billing costs more per month but keeps the exit cheap if the offer doesn't hold up after 90 days. Annual billing is the better call once you have a few months of stable renewal data and know the platform is a multi-year fit, not a hedge against your own uncertainty about whether the model works.

Which Plan Fits Your Community, by Stage

Kajabi was built course-first, and it shows in how thin the native community tools are next to a dedicated platform like Skool or Circle (see /blog/circle-vs-kajabi-coaches for the trade-off in full). If courses and community both matter to your business and you want one bill instead of two logins, the plan question below still applies. If community is the whole product, run the platform-fit question first.

Which plan fits your community, by stage

Under 2,500 members

Start on Basic

One admin, one or two products, still validating the offer. Basic's $143-179/month covers it, but the 2,500-contact ceiling arrives faster than expected once free trials, lead-magnet opt-ins, and churned-but-not-deleted contacts share the same cap.

2,500-25,000 members

Move to Growth

A small delivery team needing more than 2 logins, a course running alongside the community, or a member base that already outgrew Basic's cap. $199-249/month, and the third-party processing fee drops from 2% to 1% at the same time.

25,000+ members or multiple offers

Go Pro

Multiple communities or products, a larger admin team, and enough monthly transaction volume that the 0.5% third-party fee, versus 2% on Basic, offsets a meaningful share of the plan-price gap on its own.

Plan Fit by Member Count and Product Mix

The decision above sorts by member count. This sorts by the two inputs that actually decide the bill for a paid-community operator: how many contacts you're carrying and how many products or communities you're running. Use it to sanity-check the plan you're about to pick against what your account actually looks like today, not what it looked like at launch.

Launch stage1 community, under 1,000 paying members, 1 product, solo operator or a 2-person teamBasic — $143/month annual, $179/month monthly. The 2,500-contact cap and 2 admin seats fit this stage; the upgrade trigger will be total contacts, not paying-member count.
Scaling stage1 community plus 1-2 courses, roughly 1,000-10,000 paying members, a small delivery teamGrowth — $199/month annual, $249/month monthly. 25,000 contacts of headroom and 11 admin seats; third-party processing fee drops to 1%.

Contacts-only outlierAny tier where contacts exceed the plan cap but products and team size still fit the current planAdd $125/month per extra 25,000-contact block instead of jumping a full tier. Cheaper than moving Growth to Pro if contacts are the only thing you've outgrown.

The Cost Kajabi's Pricing Page Leaves Out: Filling It

Kajabi sells you the building: checkout, email, courses, a community space. It doesn't sell you the people. Ad spend, creative, the page cold traffic lands on, and the follow-up that turns a click into a paying member all sit outside the plan price, and once a community is past its first cohort they are usually the bigger line item.

They are also where most Kajabi communities stall. Kajabi's sales pages and templates are built for a warm email list that already knows you. Send cold Meta traffic straight to one and most of it bounces, because nobody decides to pay monthly for a community run by someone they met four seconds ago. Upgrading from Growth to Pro does nothing about that. A community with a climbing contact count and a flat paying-member count doesn't have a plan problem. It has an acquisition problem.

How AdvLaunch Fills a Kajabi Community

AdvLaunch is the paid community growth agency. On Kajabi we don't replace anything you already run. We build the pre-sell layer your sales page skips and plug it into the Kajabi email and checkout you already pay for. We call the system The Community Flywheel™:

  1. Hook: a Meta ad sends cold traffic to a paid challenge, webinar or masterclass we control, not to your membership sales page.
  2. Result delivered: over seven days or one live event, your method produces a real outcome, so people experience your teaching before they're asked to join.
  3. Community upsell: graduates get your Kajabi community at a founder rate, with Kajabi's own email automation carrying the nurture between the event and the offer.
  4. Retention compounds: members arrive already bought in, and we measure retention and lifetime value against that campaign cohort instead of a generic benchmark.

If you're weighing a Kajabi upgrade because the community feels stuck, run one check first: are you short on software, or short on paying members? If it's members, the $3,000 Launch Pack is the cheapest honest test. In 30 days we design the paid challenge or webinar funnel, launch the Meta ads, build the landing page, set up the pixel and attribution, and hand you an end-of-sprint report with the real numbers, so the decision to scale is made on your data rather than on anyone's promise. The Launch Pack assumes an ad budget of at least $2,000 a month.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Kajabi cost per month?

+

Basic starts at $179 a month, or $143 a month if you pay annually. Growth is $249 a month ($199 annually), and Pro is $499 a month ($399 annually). Figures are from kajabi.com/pricing, checked September 28, 2026; SaaS pricing changes without notice, so confirm current numbers before quoting them.

Does Kajabi charge transaction fees on top of the plan price?

+

Yes. Kajabi Payments charges 2.9% plus $0.30 per sale on Basic, dropping to 2.8% on Growth and 2.7% on Pro, each plus $0.30. Route sales through a third-party processor instead and the rate runs from 2% on Basic down to 0.5% on Pro. Factor this into cost-per-member math, not just the monthly plan price.

Is there a cheaper starter plan below Basic?

+

Not anymore. Kajabi's current pricing page lists only Basic, Growth, and Pro; the lower-cost Kickstarter plan is no longer offered as part of a 2025 pricing restructuring that also raised Basic and Growth's list prices and cut Basic's contact cap. Basic at $179 ($143 annually) is the current entry point.

How many members can I have on Kajabi's cheapest plan?

+

Basic caps out at 2,500 contacts total, which usually means fewer paying community members than that once free-tier signups, lead-magnet opt-ins, and churned-but-not-deleted contacts count against the same limit. This is the most common reason a community outgrows Basic faster than its paid-member count alone would suggest.

Is Kajabi worth it for a paid community, or is it just for courses?

+

Kajabi was built course-first; community features exist but are thinner than dedicated platforms like Skool or Circle (see /blog/circle-vs-kajabi-coaches). It fits best when courses and community both matter and one login matters more than the strongest possible community experience on its own. Compare against Mighty Networks or Teachable if community depth is the deciding factor.

Can AdvLaunch run paid acquisition for a Kajabi community?

+

Yes. We run The Community Flywheel™ on top of your existing Kajabi account: Meta ads to a paid challenge or webinar, Kajabi email as the nurture, and your community offered at a founder rate to graduates. The $3,000 Launch Pack is a 30-day sprint that tests it on your offer; the Scale Program is $8,000 a month.
